IMPORTANT: Before applying to any open position, please read the job description thoroughly. Many positions, due to their nature, have specific requirements. If you elect to apply for a job in which you do not meet the minimum requirements, your application may be transferred to a more suitable position for which you qualify.
Notice to All Applicants: SIMED will provide the Social Security Administration (SSA) and, if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), with information from each new employee's Form I-9 to confirm work authorization. For more information on our participation in E-Verify click here.

The Application Process
Applications (including resumes, online applications, or materials submitted via fax, email, or regular main) are kept on file for at least one year. Applications are considered "active" for thirty days and then moved to "inactive" status. If you are still interested in any position after 30 days, you can email the Human Resources Department at hr@simedpl.com and we will reactivate your application for another 30 days.
Your application will be reviewed for education, skills, and experience. It's then placed into the pool for the position you applied or are most qualified. If multiple positions are available and you qualify, then we will place your application in each of the pools. Your application will then be screened within each pool for potential knowledge, skills, and abilities that best match the open position.
It is important that your application be detailed, honest, and as informative as you think necessary to provide us with information regarding your previous work experience, education, or skill set so that we can best match you with an open position.

The Phone Screen
Once we have received sufficient applications, a manager will select the top candidates based on education, previous work experience, skill sets and responses to their short answer questions. You may be invited to participate in a phone screen and a member from the HR Department will contact you to setup a brief (15-20 minute) telephone interview. This gives us an opportunity to find out more about you as a person, your previous work experience, the type of work environment you are interested in, your skill sets, and other information. After the phone screens have completed the results will be returned to the manager for review.
Note: When scheduling a phone interview it should be for a time and place where you can feel comfortable answering questions about your work history, personal history and skill sets. Public areas, areas with lots of background noise or during your work hours are not recommended. It is quite acceptable to ask to schedule the telephone interview when you are able to speak easily and can be understood clearly.

The Interview
Finally, you may be selected to come in for at least one face-to-face "formal" interview with the Manager of the department and/or other senior staff. This is your opportunity to demonstrate why you are the most appropriate candidate for the position.
Because you may be entered into several pools for open positions it is possible that you will be invited to interview more than once for different managers or you may participate in an interview with several of our managers at one time. When a final candidate has been selected we will perform all necessary background and/or reference checks and move forward with the offer for the position.

Tip: Because this is a formal interview it is important that you put your best foot forward. Dress professionally, arrive early and be prepared. Bring any necessary documents such as letters of reference, copies of diplomas or certificates you feel are important in the decision making process. If you cannot make your appointment, please contact the HR Department and we will reschedule.

I submitted my application (or resume), should I submit anything else?
Typically an application should suffice for the initial phase of the interview process. There is no need to send copies of licenses, certificates, or diplomas at this time. However, it is important that you list any certifications or relevant information on your application.
If you would like us to include reference letters or other materials with your resume you may fax them to the HR Department and we will attach them to your application. Please DO NOT send originals.
If you are invited to participate in a formal interview you may bring copies of reference letters, certificates, diplomas, or any other materials you think would be important in our decision making process.

I've submitted my application, now what?
We receive many applications for each open position and it can take time to screen each application and resume. However if it has been at least 30 days then you will need to contact the HR Department and request that your application be reactivated.
The position I was interested in is no longer on the website or is different. What does that mean?
SIMED is constantly growing and changing. As new positions become available or are filled we update the website. If you applied for a position that is no longer posted, it most likely has been filled. However your application remains active for 30 days so should another similar position become available you will be entered for that pool automatically.
I participated in a phone screen (or formal interview) and haven't heard anything. How long should I wait?
We receive many resumes each day and it can take quite some time to screen each one to find just the right person for the job. We don't put a deadline on filling a position because we want to make sure we take our time to select a candidate who is a good match. It is always possible that the position has been filled with a more qualified candidate, the position was placed on hold or that we are still seeking additional candidates before we begin the next phase of the interview process. If the position is still listed on the website it is available. You may receive a letter in the mail if another candidate was selected for a position. If you were not qualified for this position we still keep you available in our pool for other similar positions which are/may become available. While you may not be the right fit for this position, you may be the perfect match for another!
You're going to do a reference check but I don't want my current employer knowing I'm interviewing, what should I do?
While we prefer honesty at all times, we understand that it can be uncomfortable if your current employer is not aware that you are job seeking. Because your application gives us permission to contact your current employer it is important you inform us of your situation as soon as possible so together, we can look for another suitable reference.
Do you have any tips for getting a "foot in the door?"
The best advice is to provide the most truthful and detailed information possible on your resume or application. Applications which don't provide enough information about your skill sets, education, or previous work experience don't give us enough to go by and may make you appear under-qualified for a position. You may be competing against 25 other candidates so it is important that we know as much as we can about you and your abilities.
Also be sure to read the job description which is posted for each opening. This may give you some more insight as to what skill sets or experience we are looking for. If there are minimum requirements listed pay close attention to these. If you do not meet the minimum requirements or do not list your qualifications on your application you may be automatically excluded from candidacy.
Unrealistic or rigid salary expectations can also negatively affect your application. We perform regular salary audits to ensure our positions are priced competitively within our market. If your salary expectations are priced outside the market and are non-negotiable it may affect your eligibility to move forward in the recruitment process.

How come you don't list the position salary?
Once we have identified an appropriate candidate and have begun the formal interview process we will discuss the salary of the position.
Do internal candidates get "preference?"
One of our values is Fairness. Internal candidates must still participate in the interview process and are not "guaranteed" a position if they have applied. However, internal candidates have experience within the company, understand the values, and have demonstrated their work ethics which gives them additional experience and skills.
